Two numbers, and everything that sits between them.
Your client owes an amount in some currency. You end up with digital dollars in a wallet. The calculator divides the first by the rate it can defend, subtracts the Koridor software fee, and shows the result — with the network fee called out separately because your client’s wallet pays that, not you.
If you add what your current provider charges, the comparison shows the difference split into the provider’s fee and what its FX markup costs. Those are your figures, not ours — so it is labelled a difference, never a saving.
What does “what reaches you” actually mean?
Digital dollars (USDC) arriving in a wallet you control. Koridor does not deposit local currency into a bank account, and the local figure shown beside the result is what that USDC is worth at the displayed rate — not a payout promise.
Where does the rate come from?
The naira rate is measured from actual cNGN/USDC fills on Base. Kenyan shilling and Philippine peso come from measured Mento swaps when those markets are active. Everything else uses an hourly indicative FX reference, which is labelled as such. The badge on the result always states which one you are looking at and when it was measured.
Why does the badge say the rate is hours old?
Because it is. The age shown is the age of the measurement, not of the page — a freshly loaded page can still be showing a six-hour-old rate. We would rather show you a stale rate honestly than hide it behind a fresh-looking timestamp.
If I create a request, is the dollar amount locked?
Only if you price it in USDC. A naira request is re-priced from the measured rate while the link is open, so your client pays the equivalent at the moment they open it. Other local currencies fix their USDC amount when you create the link, and the local value drifts instead.
Can I price in dollars, pounds or euros?
You can write a document in any of 45 currencies, but a Koridor payment request can only be priced in USDC or one of nine local currencies. If you invoice in GBP or EUR, keep the document as it is and price the request in USDC.
Do you store what I type?
No. The calculation runs in your browser. Nothing is sent to Koridor unless you deliberately create a payment request, and a shared link carries your inputs only — never a rate and never a result.
